Avani Institute of Design conducts its First Year Mid Semester Exhibition with the theme ‘Dhi’- Reflection

Kozhikode (India), March 13: Avani Institute of Design conducted its first mid-semester exhibition for their first-year students on February 22nd, 2023, with the theme “Dhi” – Reflection. The students from the foundation studio displayed projects they completed as part of the programme.  It included exercises in ink, pencil, and color. It also included perception drawings and film analysis.

The Foundation studio is titled “Thinking hands and performing body”. Professor Neelkanth Chhaya, Ar. Tony Joseph, and Dr. Soumini Raja made up the review panel. The Foundation Studio is directed by Ar. Niranjan C Warrier, accompanied by Ar. Sebastian Joseph, Ar. Anjali Sujat, Artist Anto George, Ar. Anupama V J, Ar. William George, Ar. Pavitra Nelson and Ar. Kailas Unnikrishnan.

The exhibition displayed all of the works created as a part of the interdisciplinary studio education programme from 2022 to 2023, illuminating its framework, ideas, methods, and final products. It offered a singular chance to explore architecture from the viewpoint of first-year studio students. The exhibition served as proof of the studio’s emphasis on learning through exploration in its instruction.

The exhibition is a testament to the studio’s teaching methodology that emphasizes learning through discovery. “Spontaneous knowing-in-action yields unexpected outcomes, and we react to the surprise by a kind of thinking what we are doing while we are doing it”, Schön’s principle of “reflection in action” has been a guiding force for the students throughout the course, helping them to produce unexpected outcomes that have fueled their creativity and problem-solving skills.

“We have learned important lessons about making, crafting, materiality, and collectives all of which intersect across studio domains through the varied and experimental projects presented in “Dhi”. We were exposed to various methods that create connections between the humanities and the arts. This helped us visualize concepts, combine different media to represent ideas, and help us understand the importance of light in space and how we perceive it, which is strictly related to the effects of time,” said Ar. Tony Joseph Chairman and Principal, Avani Institute Of Design.

The “Dhi” exhibition presented a wonderful chance to get acquainted with the field of architecture and appreciate the creativity of first-year studio students. In order to demonstrate how teamwork and collective effort have contributed to the success of the projects on display, Avani emphasized the collaborative nature of the studio education experience.

Assam: Bride cancels wedding after groom got too drunk

Guwahati: A bride in Assam’s Nalbari district has cancelled the wedding after the groom was found in a intoxicated manner and couldn’t even complete the rituals.

The video, which has gone viral where the groom was seen sleeping on the floor as the rituals were ongoing. The groom couldn’t even recite the rituals the Pandit told him to recite. The groom is identified as Prasenjit Haloi, who is a resident of Nalbari town.

Meanwhile, the family of the girl has lodged a complaint in the Nalbari police station demanding compensation for the wedding.

“Wedding was going well. We did all the rituals. The groom couldn’t even get down from the car. The father was even more drunk. Our family tried its best to complete the wedding. When the situation escalated, the girl decided to not sit on the wedding. We tried to request the groom side but 95% were drunk and their women were provoking. We contacted the Goan Burha and alerted the police,” said one of the relative of the girl.

Over 400 delegates participate in AGFTC, IT Bar Association’s 2-day Tax Conclave

To formally introduce myself, Hi I’m Jignesh Ramavat, I’m from Gujarat. I’m the founder of Gujarat Herald and Rajkot Herald News Paperw +and my role there is that of publisher but that’s just a position. I write and at times at edit as well.

How did you start your venture, you always wanted to be a publisher?

I was always passionate about writing, since childhood I was passionate about writing. I have a degree in B.Tech Mechanical and but the fire within me was always there and then this passion turned into the profession and this company was established.

How long have you been running this company and how does your company work?

It has been seven months since the establishment of the company. Our company Gujarat Herald and Rajkot Herald Digital News is an online digital news based in Rajkot, Gujarat. The company Gujarat Herald is an online newspaper and Rajkot Herald is an offline weekly newspaper published every Sunday, we have the  RNI Certificate for our newspaper.

Very Well, Jignesh! So, what is your motivation to work and did you face any challenges while starting your own venture and setting your foot into this new industry?

My motivation is very short and simple, no offence but I feel that today’s media, the big media houses or established firms doesn’t show the truth and the things that people should know. It is the duty to the media to serve people of the country. When this was not happening, I decided to launch the Digital News agency and get the right news to the people. Mobile is a powerful weapon hence the idea of Digital News.

And I did face challenges and hurdlers before starting and event during my initial days people passed taunts and comments. You know making sure that I don’t do. They tried their best to demotivate me, but I kept going. There were times when I wanted to give up and stop everything but I kept going and here I’m today.

One of the challenges that I faced in person was of biasness, my knowns used to call me out and say I will support a particular party or an ideology and stuff.

You talked about ideology, so what is your ideology, what do you believe in?

I believe in something that is very simple. My ideology is to serve the correct news to people and show them the truth. This is what I believe in.

Wow! Jignesh tell us about your team and what are the different departments at the Digital News?

We are still growing my team includes me, editors Dharmesh Patel, Kuldeep Patel. We are a small team of passionate individuals and we work adhering to all the government policies.

Handful of you have done a highly commendable job Jignesh, not taking much of your time. My last question to you is what are your future plans?

We are planning to expands ourselves and reach each and every citizen of the country and showing them the reality.
