This women’s day, BLACK+DECKER redefines how women #ScrewItUp

Created and conceptualised by Schbang, the campaign uses witty wordplay to shatter stereotypes

Bangalore (Karnataka) [India], March 10: BLACK+DECKER, a part of Stanley Black and Decker, global leader in hand tools and power tools, launched the #ScrewItUp campaign on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The campaign aims to screw the stereotypes surrounding women’s effective use of tools.

While women are more independent than ever, men are still believed to be more capable of household chores involving using tools. Whether it be fixing a light bulb or putting together some furniture, women are perceived as less-than-handy for the job and will most likely end up screwing it up.  Using this insight cleverly, the campaign redefines what it means for women to #ScrewItUp when it comes to hardware tools.

Created and conceptualised by Schbang, the campaign consists of a 30-second film where a woman is seen assembling furniture at home while her husband walks in and says he would do it himself as she would only screw it up. She proves him wrong by assembling the shelf with help from BLACK+DECKER’s BD40 cordless screwdriver and sarcastically responds, “Screwed it up.”

The campaign really put the last nail in the coffin of the existing stereotype around women not being able to use tools.

On the conceptualisation, Sushant Vithaldas, Business Head, Schbang Bangalore said “For Women’s Day, our goal was to showcase the familiarity and comfort around a Do-it-Yourself approach to basic home improvement which are often overlooked or underestimated for women at home. Our campaign goes beyond simply breaking down these stereotypes. By creating the hashtag #ScrewItUp, we transformed a phrase that has traditionally been associated with negativity or lack of ability into a positive celebration of her self-sufficiency.”

Stakeindia Runs A Share Market Training Institute To Improve The Financial Literacy In The Country

The initiative helps young graduates, experienced professionals, and housewives to get well-versed in stock trading and investment

New Delhi (India), March 10: Stock trading and investment are equal parts exciting and risky. In India, the stock market is assumed to be a place for shallow gambling and high-rolling activities. The image of stock trading in the country is blurry, thanks to uninformed players in the market.

To prevent Indians from falling prey to such traps and increase the country’s financial literacy, Stakeindia runs a dedicated share market training institute. Just like a conventional educational center, Stakeindia provides end-to-end training to learners willing to enter and thrive in the stock market.

The institute was co-founded by Nikhil Gaware and Sachin Sonavane in 2017 in Nashik to increase the financial literacy of people around them, after gaining 10 years of experience working in the stock market. At Stakeindia, they offer two major courses depending on the depth and expertise the students are looking for – Standard Course and Premium Course. These courses are offered by a team of certified trainers with substantial industry experience.

The Standard Course at Stakeindia is designed to cover all the basics of the Indian stock market from scratch. The team uses this course to help people with little to no knowledge about the stock market gain acquire the right skills to enter the market and understand its norms. Nikhil and Sachin consider this course to be a solid foundation for aspiring stock traders, helping them improve their financial knowledge and tackle the roadblocks along the way.

The Premium Course at Stakeindia is designed for students who are familiar with the basics and want to take their skills a notch higher. From Advanced Technical Analysis to Live Trading, this course turns amateur traders into stock market experts. Being ISO certified, Stakeindia helps students build careers in the field of stock market.

Irrespective of the course a student chooses, Stakeindia provides them with a conducive environment that allows them to hone their skills. Designed by industry experts with years of professional experience in the finance sector, the courses also cover the psychological aspects of trading and investment, preventing the students from getting carried away by emotions and making unwise decisions.

At Stakeindia, there is no bar for the age, experience, and profession of the enrolling students. From fresh graduates to experienced corporate professionals, the stock market training institution has trained over 2,000 clients since its inception. The team of experts has also provided stock trading and investment training to housewives, helping them generate a profitable revenue stream.

Along with training their clients in stock trading, Stakeindia also provides them with financial management support. The industry professionals at the company help their clients manage their portfolios and optimize their investments to maximize their earnings. Stakeindia tailors its consultancy services to its clients’ needs, ensuring that their portfolios are managed according to their financial needs. The experts also guide their clients every step of the way in creating a Demat account for smooth and effective trading.

Indian stock market is highly dynamic and it is important for the players to know this before venturing into the sector. Considering this need for transparency, Nikhil Gaware claims that Stakeindia prepares its clients for the hurdles while making attempts to reap profits. He says, “To provide wholesome stock market training, it is important for the students to know both sides of the coin. Deliberately hiding the risks involved in stock trading and taking advantage of people’s greed is highly unethical. At Stakeindia, we follow a 100% transparent approach while training our clients, informing them what they stand to gain and lose upon entering the dynamic world of the Indian stock market!”

IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) Urges Government to Prioritize Basic Research Funding for Technological Advancement

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India], March 10: The Union Budget for 2023-24 has allocated a significant amount of ₹16,361.42 crore for the Ministry of Science & Technology. However, a closer look reveals that the allocation has increased by only 15% from the previous estimate, and the Ministry had seen a decrease of 3.9% between 2021-22 and 2022-23. Scientific institutions in the country may face limitations in their absorptive capacity in the absence of significant funding increases across departments, warns IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus).

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) received a boost with an allocation of ₹7,931.05 crores. It went up 32.1% from the previous year. However, the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) received a hike of 3.9% and 1.9%, respectively. This lack of significant funding raises across departments may hinder the country’s technological advancement and innovation capabilities.

IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) urges the government to prioritize research funding for technological advancement. While initiatives to scale up the technology to produce laboratory-made diamonds, develop dedicated centres of excellence for artificial intelligence research, and establish a research centre for sickle cell anemia are commendable, none of the budgetary allocations suggests a significant scale-up of basic research.

According to the Global Innovation Index, India spends only 0.7% of its GDP on research and development. The other developed and advanced countries spend over 2% of their GDP on R&D. As one of the world’s largest producers of scientific literature, India must increase the size of the funding pie and ease the procedures to make the most efficient use of it.

“Research and evolution play a key role in the country’s technological advancement and innovation capabilities. The government must increase funding for basic research to build the country’s scientific infrastructure and attract top talent,” said Dr. Arun Kumar Singh, Director of IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus).

IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) emphasizes the importance of research funding for technological advancement and innovation capabilities. As research scholars not receiving promised funds on time, and the lack of quality equipment required by researchers hinder the academic potential of the country. A larger part of research continues to be funded by government authorities, and the participation of the private sector has grown only incrementally. Therefore, the government must focus on streamlining bureaucratic processes to ensure the utilization of research funds, build the country’s scientific infrastructure and attract top talent.

New Delhi (India), March 9: Saurav Kumar Sinha, one of the most recognized restaurateurs of his generation, aspires to come up with unlimited beer restaurants and food restaurants in India. With experience in launching more than 1000+ restaurants to date, he has been directly or indirectly linked with the tenfold success of these restaurants. Currently, he serves as the CMOof the Brewpit India Private Limited, A company that holdes majority shareholding in The Barbeque Company (BBQC Hospitality Private Limited) and BP Beer Bash (BP Beer Bash India Pvt. Ltd.).

Saurav Kumar Sinha, who is an electronics and communications engineer from Dharwad (VTU) by profession, has been consistently active in multinational companies PAN India until 2015. His visit to Delhi led him to meet some zealous restauranteurs where he first shared his interest to work in the hospitality industry. He did so, by sharing a paper on how to organize the restaurant industry, and since then he has been unstoppable. Some popular restaurants he has opened directly or indirectly in the meanwhile are Warehouse Cafe, Lord of the drinks, teddy Boy, The Barbeque Company, The BBQ Express, and Brewpit 69 among others.

Post lockdown, Saurav Kumar Sinha joined as a project head for the multicity food chain called The Barbeque Company. When he commenced operations at the Barbeque company, it had only 3 to 4 restaurants but now, it is at 18.  He was handling all the projects licensing and leasing for The Barbeque Company.

The Barbeque Company, a live grill & buffet concept delivering Mediterranean, American, Oriental, Asian, and Indian cuisines, debuted in Janakpuri, New Delhi, back in 2015. In a short period, the restaurant concept became extremely popular among the general public, resulting in an outcome, the restaurant growing into a multi-city chain that has expanded throughout the nation.

Now, Saurav Sinha is also one of the stakeholders of Group It India Private, the current company that holds a majority share of the Barbeque company. Brewpit India Private Limited is now the parent company that has multiple brands like the Barbeque company, Brewpit 69, BP Beer Bash, and Barbeque express.

It was the first company to introduce the concept of litigation funding in India.

“Litigation funding is quickly gaining traction in India, as a growing percentage of law firms and businesses consider it to finance their legal matters. Litigation funding is plainly 3rd-party funding for litigation matters,” Saurav shares. However, he existed the startup venture in 2018 to open his own restaurant, Pit Stop 142, just before the lockdown days, which again he had to close down due to uncertainty, which led him to suffer a huge loss.

Saurav Sinha is also a published author working on some prominent literary projects. His future aspirations are to launch unlimited beer and food restaurants in the days to come.
