Manipur: Four injured after powerful bomb exploded in Imphal
Guwahati: Amdist heavy security arrangement ahead of Republic Day celebrations, four persons were injured after a powerful bomb exploded in Manipur’s Ukhrul district on Wednesday.
The injured persons has been identified as Manaowon(49),Dr Wonyao Kasar (35), Angayung Rizat(39) and P. Leishingam (37). According to reports, the incident took place at Community circle(Gandhi Chowk) in Ukhrul town at around 5 pm.
Police said four persons, including one woman, who were crossing the road were injured when a suspected hand grenade exploded.
“Three civilians were injured from the splinters. They were admitted at hospital and all three of them are out of danger,” said a police official.
Meanwhile, security forces have cordoned off the area for further investigation.”We couldn’t ascertain the motive behind the the bomb blast. We have started investigation into the case,” said the police official.
